I’m Laura Kay Wootan. I’m a 40 something former Texas girl now living in beautiful Ooltewah, Tennessee. I’m a mom to an 18-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl.  My husband and I celebrated 22 years of marriage this year. 

I have been creating photographs since I was 15 years old. I have a BFA in photography from the University of Texas at Arlington. Although I’ve had the opportunity of working in several aspects of the creative industry my heart has always been in photography.  I owned a portrait studio in San Marcos, Texas for 13 years before moving to Tennessee. This is a portfolio of some of my favorite photographic works. I have always considered it an honor to be commissioned to document the special moments in people’s lives.  My work is currently being represented by Getty Images.

You might notice one slightly over photographed six-year-old in my children’s gallery.  I can’t help it! She is my little muse. When I’m not photographing my daugther or my friend’s children you can find me volunteering and photographing for my Church.  I also spend my time reading, baking, sewing, and attempting to garden.
